[Better than spray with DEET!]
№1 – Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent
Why did this mosquito repellent win the first place?
Because this is very effective product, that can deal with hundred types of insects. It really works for many days without respraying. Actually, I’m not sure that it will last in 42 days. I use it one time per week. And during the week I forget about mosquitoes.
№2 – Insect Repellent with 20% Picaridin
Why did this mosquito repellent come in second place?
Because this repellent is a great and effective choice for travelling, though it is not as effective as the previous one.
№3 – Insect Repellent with 40% DEET
Why did this mosquito repellent take third place?
Because I took it to the forest last autumn. When I start to use it – spray didn’t work. After that I don’t really like it. But if you can’t find better ones – take it. It is better to bye two at once.
Attention! Don’t buy any mosquito repellents until you read the FAQ!

Insect repellents are much safer alternative of insecticides. You can apply them to the skin to protect yourself from the bites of mosquitoes, mites, lice and other insects. Insecticides are made to kill insects, while the main purpose of repellent is to protect individuals from them (though there are repellents, which contain insecticides).

No! Do not even waste your time trying them! Cell phones simply are not able to produce enough ultrasound. Using some of them may only annoy your babies or pets. You can buy a special ultrasonic repellent. But trust me – even the cheapest spray is more effective.

What to apply first: mosquito repellent or sunscreen?
Actually, there is no single opinion about this. Some travelers believe that the order does not matter at all, some say, that the sunscreen applied over the repellent might interfere with its evaporation, leading to lowering its ability to repel insects. I myself use mosquito repellent after applying sunscreen, because the former is more toxic and this way I am trying to reduce the skin’s absorption of it.

Ask each of them to use various brands of repellents – and see for yourself, which one will turn out to be the most effective.

Usually lotions last much longer, than sprays with the comparable amount of DEET. This is explained by the way they slow down the evaporation of the active component. Mosquitoes use their sense of smell to find their prey. The odors of our sweat and breath, which is usually disgusting to people, are super attractive to them.
